Shoot day reflection

Morning shoot:

Luckily, nobody had forgotten anything to bring in. So this made it easier when it came to shooting from the get go. We started off with Guy leaning on the speakers doing the lip sync as well as other basic shots to make sure we had a selection of lip sync stuff before we get to the more interesting visual shots which would ultimately take up more time. Matt, our supervisor described it as eating the meat and veg before you get on to the tasty dessert. We then made some progress with the visual, more intricate shots. Which a lot had just come to us in the moment and wasn't planned. For example, We put guy on the dolly tracks and made him lie down. We then placed the camera on top of a bridge that we made out of a plank of wood on top of two of the blocks. We would then shoot guy back and fourth on the dolly whilst lip syncing. Things like this took up most of the morning and before we knew it lunch had come around. Apart from a few shots, we had only really used Guy in the morning so we knew that we were going to be using more of Heath and the Dj decks in the afternoon. As well as this, we hadn't got the speaker shots yet so we were anxious to get that done too. We decided to all have a fair amount of time on the camera, directing, being the floor manager and taking pictures. We also wanted to make sure we kept the performers happy so we had food that they could eat and we made sure they were weren't bored.

Afternoon shoot:

In the afternoon shoot, we didn't have as long as the morning, we had a very short amount of time to shoot a lot of things that we hadn't got yet. To help speed the process up, Aidan and Matt filmed some of the powder, speaker stuff whilst me, Maya and Mima got some shots of Heath on the DJ decks. Whilst this was not crucial it helped us to fill in with some extra footage incase when editing we find it had got a bit repetitive. We managed to make the most of the short amount of time and got a lot done. I would say all together, the shoot was very successful and although some things changed, we shot nearly everything we had set out to do.
